Bunny is the longest dog resident at our Center, and we can’t figure out why! Just look at that cute face! Bunny, formerly known as Sugar Plum, was rescued from ACCT Philly at the end of July. She has now been homeless for over 250 days! We are trying to match her with her perfect family so she will no longer be a homeless girl.
There’s probably no question why we renamed her Bunny. Look at those ears! They stand up, which makes her look like a real Easter Bunny. On Friday, Bunny will be hopping down the bunny trail – a nice walking trail on our property – while she looks for Easter eggs. You see, we have been doing “nose work” with Bunny, which means she has to work extra hard and use her nose to find special treats. This helps stimulate her brain so she doesn’t mentally deteriorate while she is waiting on her home in our kennels, which can be very stressful, especially after a long period of time.
Since Bunny is having some trouble finding a home, we are asking the public to change their Facebook profile picture to Bunny for Easter weekend in effort to find this Bunny her forever spot. The more people who participate, the sooner we find Bunny the home she deserves.
Bunny needs a home where she is the only pet. She would need an active family who will walk her a few times a day for good periods of time, or someone who has a runner in the family. Bunny participates in our Dog Trotter program where she runs a few miles a few times a week. If the home does not have the ability to run/walk her every day, she would need a home with a fenced-in yard that she can run around in and tire herself out.
Our behavior team believes after Bunny settles into a home, she may have the potential of having a submissive brother. She could live with older children who will be able to participate in her training and help her acclimate into the family.
Bunny is available at our Adoption Center. Her adoption fee has been sponsored by a donor, which means she is free to the right family, and also includes a $200 Petco gift card, thanks to another one of Bunny’s biggest fans. Come meet this love-a-Bull Bunny!
