Start the New Year by training your dog at our lifesaving Center! Did you know that January is National Train Your Dog Month? At Providence Animal Center, we offer low-cost training services for dogs of all ages and owners of all dogs, not just those adopted from us. For a limited time, we’re debuting an impulse-control training class, including jumping on people, go to a “place” to settle, loose-leash walking and entertainment items to work your dog’s body and mind for mental stimulation. This is in partnership with Canine Communication, starting on Saturday, Jan. 6. Classes will be held at our campus in Media for a $125 lifesaving fee. Register by contacting Dayna at DVilla@ProvidenceAC.org or by calling 610-566-1370 x229.
We also offer two basic obedience sessions – on Wednesday afternoons starting Jan. 10, at our Center, and Monday evenings starting Jan. 15, in Broomall. One, is a 4-week-long Basic Obedience Class in partner with Your Mannerly Mutt, Inc. It’s an intimate class with force-free, positive methods. The skills learned in this 4-week class include basic commands and loose-leash walking. Classes are held on Wednesdays from 12-1pm at Providence Animal Center, in Media. Register by contacting Dayna at 610-566-1370 x229 or DVilla@ProvidenceAC.org.
The second Basic Obedience Class we offer is a 6-week-class in partner with Going to the Dogs Obedience Training, which are held on Monday evenings from 6-7pm or 7-8pm at Christ United Methodist Church, inside Fellowship Hall. Contact Trainer Debbie at 610-344-7799 and 10% of the $140 class fee is donated back to Providence Animal Center.
As for the dogs who already know basic obedience, a Canine Good Citizen training and testing course is offered starting on Monday, Jan. 15 at 8pm. Going to the Dogs Obedience Training, hosts an 8-week Canine Good Citizen training course with the test included. Classes are held on Monday evenings from 8-9pm at Christ United Methodist Church, inside Fellowship Hall. Call trainer Debbie at 610-344-7799 to register and 10% of the $200 class fee is donated back to Providence Animal Center.
Last but not least, Providence Animal Center offers puppy classes for puppies aged 8-25 weeks. Proof of age-appropriate vaccinations is required. In this class, your puppy will play with other puppies and you will learn about puppy behavior and training while they socialize and become well rounded members of society. Classes are held Friday evenings from 6-7pm at Providence Animal Center. The class fee is $125 payable to Providence Animal Center and good for 6 sessions. Register by contacting Dayna at 610-566-1370 x229 or DVilla@ProvidenceAC.org.
Providence Animal Center’s own Dayna Villa holds private consultations to help you through any behavior or training challenge. To potentially set up a meeting, email her at DVilla@ProvidenceAC.org with a detailed message about what’s going on with your fur-baby.
