Meet Morris, a tall, handsome, young guy who loves everyone he meets! At about 2 years old, Morris loves to play catch, take walks, and cuddle. He’s a fun, silly, guy who could live with another friendly dog and even a kitty as long as they are given some time to get to know each other. He is also living with a little girl in his foster home who has quickly become his little buddy. He is a huge fan of chew toys and toys in general – he really is just a fun loving guy! He is housetrained, walks well on the leash, and his foster-home reports: “Morris is probably best described as a giant puppy! He is very sweet, silly, playful, energetic and has lots of puppy-like tendencies. She said that he can be mouthy and excitable at times, but is very sweet and eager to learn!” He weighs about 70 pounds, is already neutered, up to date on my vaccinations, and micro-chipped and is ready to find his forever family! If you have more questions about Morris or would like to meet him, please email an adoption application to Foster@ProvidenceAC.org.
When homeless pets are with us for some time before they find their perfect match, a special bond is formed between them and their human caregivers here at the Center – which makes it that much sweeter when we receive updates like this one from Phantom’s family:
“It’s so nice of you to reach out and see how things are going. Phantom is doing great; he is such an amazing dog. I think he just needed a place where he felt safe and loved because it is like night and day from the day, we took him home now. The first few weeks of having him really scared me and had me questioning what the hell I got myself in too, He would growl and bark at everyone on the streets and when someone new walked into our house. Since having adopted him he has done quite a bit of exploring and playing. His has a new buddy named Tug, who is my parents’ dog also a boxer! They get along great Phantom still likes to play a bit rough, but we are working on that. He has been down to the jersey shore playing in the sand and water. We also enjoy taking him on hikes Sunday mornings followed but a bath at the local pet value (PS. I have never seen a dog enjoy bath time as he does) as he likes to play in the creeks! All in all, he is a great dog with such a loving personality. We love him a lot and will continue to try and work on his means of playing with others!”
Thank you for providing Phantom with the happily-ever-after that he and all homeless pets deserve! Phantom’s Fan Club here at Providence is sending lots of love your family’s way!
At Providence Animal Center, we make a commitment to every pet in our care – to show them the dedication, love, and attention that they rightfully deserve until their perfect match comes in, wanting to promise them forever.
In 2018, we were able to see this magical match-making moment happen for 3,664 homeless pets, just like Hopper who was brought to Providence through Humane Society Police Officer Riggle after having experienced violent acts of cruelty in her previous home. Her road to recovery was not an easy one, but our lifesaving promise to them is a commitment to do everything in our power to help, and now, Hopper is enjoying the life of luxury with a family of her very own.
Our ability to help is only made possible thanks to our generous supporters – and by committing to us, you help ensure our commitment to them.
