Kimberly Boudwin, VMD
Dr. Kimberly Boudwin is our Medical Director and has been serving as our head veterinarian since the spring of 2010. Dr. Boudwin is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to revamping our medical policies and procedures, Dr. Boudwin worked as a full-time veterinarian at a private practice. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association and is a USDA-accredited veterinarian. Dr. Boudwin’s passion is surgery, specifically soft-tissue and orthopedic surgeries, many of which she has performed on owned animals in the community, saving families from the threat of euthanizing their family pet due to not being able to afford the special surgery at a private practice. Dr. Boudwin is the owner of two cats, Howard and Utley.
Gia Croce, VMD
Dr. Gia Croce is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. She also completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. After practicing twenty years in private small animal medicine, Dr. Croce shifted her concentration to shelter animal medicine and surgery. Since 2012, Dr. Croce has been one of Providence’s main surgeons. In that capacity, Dr. Croce has enjoyed teaching many Penn Vet externs how to perform their first surgeries. Throughout the years, Dr. Croce has served on Penn Vet’s Dean’s Alumni Council and the Penn Alumni Board. In 2017, Dr. Croce was honored with the Penn Vet Alumni Award of Merit. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association and the Delaware Valley Veterinary Association. Dr. Croce owns two cats and a dog named Nikita, an animal cruelty rescue who she adopted from our Center.
Emily Glasgow, BVSc BVMS
Dr. Emily Glasgow has been a part of the Providence Animal Center veterinary team since 2016. Dr. Glasgow attended veterinary school at Murdoch University, in Perth, Western Australia, where she graduated from in 2010. After graduation, Dr. Glasgow remained in Australia for a few years and worked in the university hospital’s small animal medicine department, specifically in veterinary oncology. Upon returning to the United States in 2013, Dr. Glasgow worked in small animal general practice. Outside of work, Dr. Glasgow enjoys riding horses and spending time with her human and animal family, which includes a 3-year-old and two dogs, one of which is a rescued Greyhound who flew all the way here from Australia!
Anna Hummer, VMD
Dr. Anna Hummer is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed a medicine and surgery internship at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital, in New Jersey. Dr. Hummer also worked as a general practitioner in small animal practice and for the USDA as a public health veterinarian before joining the Providence Animal Center team. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her husband and their two cats and rambunctious German Shepherd.
Anita Impellizeri O’Brien, VMD
Dr. Anita Impellizeri O’Brien is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Delaware Valley Academy of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to joining our team, she worked in several private practices as well as at the Pennsylvania SPCA and Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. Dr. O’Brien owns one cat, Nemo, and three dogs, two of which she adopted from our Center.
LeAndra Thompson, VMD
Dr. LeAndra Thompson is our Associate Director of Clinic Services. Dr. Thompson is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Veterinary Medicine. She has previously worked as an emergency and critical care veterinarian at Keystone Veterinary Emergency and Referral and the Pennsylvania SPCA and as the Medical Director for Operation Ava Animal Rescue and The Pet Mechanic Small Animal Veterinary Clinic in Philadelphia. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and is a USDA-accredited veterinarian.
