Just when we thought hurricane season was nearing its end, we found out Hurricane Michael was on its way. We have helped with many homeless pets areas affected by hurricanes – like Florence, Harvey, Irma, Jose and Maria, so of course we wanted to help with Hurricane Michael as well.
Monday morning, we sent two lifesavers from our staff to North Carolina where they met dogs and cats from Florida. All of the pets we brought back to our Center were already homeless. Our hope is that by taking these pets, shelters now have space for pets who were lost in the storm.
50 dogs and cats who are now safe with us and many are available to adopt right now. Our vet team will do their routine checks and spay/neuter surgeries on our new friends until they are all available for adoption.
Not everyone is in a position to adopt a pet right now and we understand that. But the next best way to helping us help these homeless pets is by donating anything that you can. Every dollar helps these sweet orphaned souls get one step closer to finding their forevers.
